Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled National General Adjuster to join our team. This role involves managing complex, high-value property and casualty claims across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of claims handling procedures, strong analytical abilities, and exceptional communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Management: Handle large, complex, and high-value property and casualty claims from inception to resolution. Ensure claims are processed efficiently and accurately.
- Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations, including site inspections, interviews, and document reviews, to determine the cause, extent, and value of the loss.
- Assessment: Evaluate damage to buildings, structures, and other property. Prepare detailed estimates and reports on the scope of damage and required repairs or replacements.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate claim files, including investigation notes, correspondence, and relevant documentation.
- Negotiation: Engage in effective negotiation with claimants, attorneys, and other stakeholders to achieve fair and timely settlements.
- Client Interaction: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, answering questions, and offering expert advice throughout the claims process.
- Compliance: Ensure all claims handling activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior adjusters and other team members. Share best practices and industry knowledge.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports and summaries for clients, senior management, and other stakeholders as required.
- Travel: Travel to various locations for site inspections, client meetings, and other claim-related activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in property and casualty claims adjusting, with a focus on large, complex, and high-value claims. Experience in a national or regional adjusting role is preferred.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Claims (AIC), or similar are highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of insurance policies, coverage analysis, construction methods, and legal aspects of claims handling.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight trips as necessary.
